~ Stoke-on-Trent City Council SHLAA Map ~

The SHLAA is one of a number of technical reports that will provide baseline evidence to inform the emerging Local Plan. The SHLAA is an assessment of the potential future supply of land in the City for housing. The inclusion of a site within the SHLAA does not allocate or guarantee a site will be brought forward for housing or that it will remain unsuitable for housing, as things can change. The assessment of the site should not prejudice any planning application received, and each application will be assessed on its merits. The mapping should be viewed in conjunction with the schedule of sites, which shows the assessment of a sites deliverability.

~ Brownfield Land Register ~

Also within this map is the Brownfield Land register.  The Government’s legislation relating to planning has been updated to require Local Authorities to produce Brownfield Registers annually. Brownfield land registers are intended to provide up-to-date and consistent information on potential brownfield development sites that local authorities consider to be appropriate for residential development. The Government set methodology requires sites to be over 0.25 Ha or capable of supporting 5 or more dwellings as well as being suitable, available and achievable to be included on the register and importantly only sites considered to be on previously developed land (brownfield) are included on the register.
